Responsibilities
As a Clinical Consultant, your responsibilities will include:
- Providing direct client care using individual, couple, group, and family therapy
- Assessing and planning care by evaluating the psychiatric and psychosocial needs of the client
- Providing crisis intervention to clients and families
- Educating clients and family members about available resources and support groups
- Working effectively across programs for clients with mental health and substance use disorders
- Negotiating level of care and length of stay with managed care companies
- Collaborating with the healthcare team to provide an integrated delivery of care
- Participating in administrative activities such as team meetings and staff education
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you should have the following qualifications:
- Master's Degree in Social Work, Counseling, or a related field
- Three years of experience providing direct services to psychiatric patients and/or substance abuse population
- Previous experience in assessment, diagnosis, and individual/group therapy
- Valid CT Licensed Masters of Social Work if Master's degree is in Social Work
- Flexibility with schedule, including evenings, weekends, and travel between sites
