Job Responsibilities
- Provide direct client care using individual, couple, group, and family therapy tailored to each client's needs
- Prepare appropriate medical documentation to meet regulatory requirements
- Assess and plan care by evaluating the psychiatric and psychosocial needs of clients
- Provide crisis intervention to clients and families
- Educate clients and refer them to appropriate resources to support their care and recovery
- Collaborate effectively across programs for clients with mental health and substance use disorders
- Negotiate level of care and length of stay with managed care companies
- Participate in administrative activities such as team meetings, clinical supervision, and staff education
Qualifications
- Master's Degree in Social Work, Counseling, or related field
- Three years' experience providing direct services to psychiatric patients and/or substance abuse population
- Previous experience in assessment, diagnosis, and individual and group therapy
- Valid CT Licensed Masters of Social Work if Master's degree is in Social Work
- Demonstrated experience using a computer
- Flexible with schedule per program needs, including evenings/weekends and travel between sites
