Responsibilities

As a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST), your responsibilities will include:

  • Implementing and monitoring patient care plans
  • Coordinating all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care
  • Recording and communicating patient conditions
  • Carrying out physician and nursing orders
  • Assessing and coordinating patient discharge planning
  • Participating in interdisciplinary patient rounds
  • Developing and revising individualized plans of care
  • Participating in activities for professional growth and development

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you should have the following qualifications:

  • Certified BLS Provider from the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross
  • Preferred certification as a Certified Surgical Tech specializing in Surgery from the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA)
  • Graduate of an accredited surgical technologist program
  • Experience in a surgical setting is preferred
