As a Behavioral Health Clinician, you will be responsible for providing cost-effective inpatient/outpatient and community care to adolescent patients and their families. You will work closely with a team of specialists, ensuring access to care and determining the appropriate level of treatment. This role requires expertise in both mental health and substance use services.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct client care using individual, couple, group, and family therapy based on each patient's treatment plan.
- Prepare accurate and timely medical documentation to meet regulatory requirements.
- Assess the psychiatric and psychosocial needs of patients and prioritize care and treatment.
- Intervene in crisis situations and provide continuous education and support to patients and their families.
- Collaborate with managed care companies to negotiate level of care and length of stay.
- Work collaboratively as a team member to provide integrated healthcare to patients and families.
- Participate in administrative activities, including meetings, staff supervision, and continuing education.
Qualifications
- Master's Degree in Social Work, Counseling, or related field required (must obtain within 60 days of hire).
- Previous internship experience in assessment, diagnosis, and therapy.
- Valid CT Licensed Masters of Social Work required (within 90 days of graduation).
- Proficiency in computer skills and basic keyboarding.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and travel between sites.
