As a Behavioral Health Clinician, you will be responsible for providing quality, cost-effective care to clients and their families across the continuum of care. Your role will involve direct client care, utilizing individual, couple, group, and family therapy approaches as indicated by the treatment plan. Alongside a multidisciplinary team, you will assess client needs, coordinate treatment plans, and advocate for appropriate resources. You will also provide crisis intervention services, educate clients and families, and facilitate ongoing recovery and treatment processes.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct client care using individual, couple, group, and family therapy.
  • Prepare appropriate medical documentation to meet regulatory requirements.
  • Assess and plan care based on the psychiatric and psychosocial needs of clients.
  • Provide crisis intervention services in multiple sites and in the community.
  • Educate clients and family members and refer them to appropriate levels of care and resources.
  • Collaborate effectively with programs for clients with mental health and substance use disorders.
  • Negotiate level of care and length of stay with managed care companies.
  • Work collaboratively as a team member to provide integrated healthcare delivery.
  • Participate in administrative activities and engage in ongoing professional development.

Qualifications

  • Master's Degree in Social Work, Counseling, or related field (to be obtained within 60 days of hire).
  • Previous intern experience in assessment, diagnosis, and individual/group therapy.
  • Valid CT Licensed Master of Social Work (LMSW) within 90 days of graduation.
  • Proficiency in using a computer and basic keyboarding skills.
  • Flexibility with schedule, including evenings, weekends, and travel between sites.
