As an Assistant Nurse Manager (RN) in the Cardiology Arrhythmia department, you'll be part of the highly skilled and compassionate Heart & Vascular Institute team. This team is dedicated to advancing cardiac care and offers a truly integrated approach to patient care, backed by cutting-edge technology and a team of talented caregivers and physicians.

In this role, you'll primarily care for patients diagnosed with Arrhythmia disorders and Congestive Heart Failure. You'll also have the opportunity to work with pre-operative open-heart surgery patients and other cardiac patients requiring monitoring. The pace is professionally challenging and stimulating, making it a wonderful learning environment.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise a work group to ensure the delivery of a high-quality, cost-effective product or service
  • Schedule and assign work, resolve processing problems, and collect data to monitor progress
  • Continually strive to improve quality and productivity by identifying improvement opportunities and implementing changes
  • Implement and monitor departmental goals and objectives that align with the organization's strategic direction
  • Coach and develop employees, providing input to performance evaluations

Requirements

  • Current Connecticut RN License
  • Graduate of an accredited nursing school (BSN required)
  • BLS certification by the American Heart Association and proof of Arrhythmia Certification required prior to date of hire
  • Prior leadership experience and/or unit committee work highly preferred
  • Specialty certification highly preferred
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
