  • Job Schedule: Full-time
  • Standard Hours: 40 hours per week
  • Job Shift: Shift 2 (Evening/Night shift position)
  • Shift Details: No weekends, no holidays

Responsibilities

As the Assistant Nurse Manager, you will be a clinical expert in the Oncology service line, serving as a role model for Registered Nurses and staff under your supervision. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Directing the movement of patients through the department in a safe and efficient manner
  • Assigning patient care activities and ensuring staff qualifications
  • Supporting and mentoring team members
  • Monitoring and maintaining staff performance
  • Promoting and supporting a healthy work environment

Qualifications

To be considered for this role, you should meet the following requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing required; Masterโ€™s Degree in health-related or business field preferred
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience as an RN in an Oncology unit required; 3 or more years preferred. Six months of Charge Nurse or supervisory experience required; 12 months preferred. Leadership experience preferred.
  • Licensure, Certification, Registration: Current Connecticut License Registered Nurse, Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Ability to obtain and maintain department-specific certifications.
  • Knowledge, Skills, and Ability Requirements: Appropriate clinical knowledge to evaluate and prioritize patient flow issues. Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills. Previous supervisory experience preferred. Strong prioritization and supervisory skills.
