Summary:

Airport Retail Enterprises is seeking a skilled and passionate Head Barista to oversee the day-to-day coffee service at our 6 coffee venues located at Canberra Airport. As a Head Barista, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality control of coffee products, monitoring and addressing coffee-related costs, training the team, and maintaining a sufficient stock of coffee and equipment.

In this role, you will be actively engaged in keeping up with industry trends and developments within the world of coffee. You will serve as the primary source of training and coaching for the team, ensuring that they are well-versed in all coffee-related matters. Your responsibilities will also include finding innovative ways to communicate and share our premium Ona Coffee offerings with customers. Additionally, as a leader for the team, you will have the opportunity to refine your leadership skills and foster a positive team culture.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and serve bar products to meet quality standards
  • Dial-in and setup sections and daily recipes
  • Assist the front-of-house team with service and customer interactions
  • Prep ingredients and restock sections for the next day
  • Order stock to ensure smooth operation of the venues
  • Perform cleaning and closing duties

Requirements:

  • Extensive knowledge of coffee from farm to cup
  • Understanding and appreciation of various barista and roasting styles within the industry
  • Excellent leadership skills and ability to lead by example
