As a Group Counselor, you will play a vital role in our Detoxification, Residential, and Therapeutic Programs, providing assessment, monitoring, crisis management, and education for our clients and their families. Summary

As a Group Counselor at Mountain Springs Recovery, you will work collaboratively with our clinical team to ensure the delivery of exceptional services that meet our standards. You will assess client behavior, document group participation and behavior, and provide crisis management within a therapeutic milieu setting. Your dedication and expertise will contribute to our clients' journey towards recovery and overall well-being.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct assessments and interviews to gather relevant client information
  • Monitor and observe clients to detect any signs of abnormal physical or mental behavior
  • Adjust therapy methods based on client reactions and clinical guidelines
  • Ensure completion of all required paperwork and documentation
  • Collaborate with the clinical team to coordinate services for clients
  • Facilitate therapeutic activities, support groups, and educational sessions
  • Provide education and support to clients and their families
  • Respond to emergencies and take appropriate action
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records and documentation
  • Attend staff meetings and training sessions
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Valid CAT, CAS, or LAC certification
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field
  • 1-3 years of experience utilizing Microsoft Excel at an advanced level
  • Knowledge of 12-step treatment model and dual diagnosis treatment practices
  • Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and CFR 42 requirements
  • Strong problem-solving and ethical decision-making skills
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities
