Role Summary: As a Navy Electronics Technician with ADF Careers, you'll have the opportunity to work in the Navy, maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing weapons systems, circuits, and equipment onboard ships or submarines and ashore. We welcome applicants with diverse backgrounds, including those with no prior experience, apprentices, or experienced tradies. You'll receive payment from day one to acquire essential skills through on-the-job trade training, with potential recognition of prior learning.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain weapons systems such as guns, missiles, and torpedo launchers
  • Diagnose and repair satellite equipment, underwater systems, electronic warfare systems, and communication/navigation/surveillance systems

Specialisation: You can choose to specialise as an Electronics Technician Submariner, responsible for maintaining high-tech systems on submarines. The role includes the upkeep of torpedo-firing systems, underwater sonars, navigation systems, periscopes, and more.

Salary: After completing your military and employment training, the salary package for surface fleet technicians starts at $77,451 and $90,437 for submariners.

Requirements: To be eligible, you must be over 17 at the time of enlistment, an Australian citizen, and have passed Year 10 English, Maths, and Science (preferably with Physics).
