About this role
We are growing and currently seeking a Field Service Technician to join our team, based out of our Surrey, BC head office, servicing customers throughout the Lower Mainland. As a leading distributor of Ingersoll Rand compressed air products, we offer full training to help you become a factory-certified technician, making this an excellent opportunity for individuals with a mechanical or electrical background. Prior experience with compressed air systems is an asset but not required.
What you'll do
- Install, start up, inspect, maintain, and repair compressed air equipment to meet quality and operational standards.
- Create a friendly, professional customer experience.
- Communicate effectively with customers and colleagues.
- Recommend parts/services and follow through on customer approvals.
- Collaborate with internal teams to obtain necessary materials.
- Adhere to safety standards in diverse, changing environments.
- Travel daily to customer sites in the Cariboo/Northern BC and surrounding areas; occasional overnight travel may be required.
- Participate in a rotation-based on-call schedule, including occasional after-hours service.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics and diagrams.
- Document service work, maintenance, and time logs accurately.
- Promote company products and services (e.g., diagnostics, planned maintenance, system upgrades).
Requirements
- High school diploma required; technical training preferred.
- Experience with compressed air systems is an asset; full training provided.
- Backgrounds in mechanical, millwright, HVAC, electrical, electronics, or CNG systems considered strong assets.
Nice to have
- Certifications like Journeyman or Red Seal Millwrights, Electricians, Heavy Duty Mechanics or Diesel Mechanics considered an asset.
- Previous compressed air service or HVAC experience is an asset.
- Previous field service experience is an asset.
